Teddington Library will be hosting Alan Connor on October 21st for a talk on all things on cryptic crosswords.

Details of the talk are as below:

The crossword recently celebrated its 100th birthday and local author Alan Connor has written a book about some of the extraordinary things it has got up to as it evolved into the world’s most popular intellectual pastime. Alan will be talking about his book and its people and events, from PG Wodehouse to Stephen Sondheim and a welder's strike to codebreaking at Bletchley Park. 


After the talk, there will be a Q&A for all matters wordplay, anagrammatical and cryptically humorous.
