In the 1930’s there were 45 nurseries listed in Hampton. Just within the area we will cover on our walk, the land amounted to some 130 acres, that is the same as 65 football pitches! Much of this was under glass. Now the only artifact is the boilerhouse chimney of Page’s West nursery. This is a walk to test our imaginations, and our sense of space and scale!
Start/finish: The walk starts and finishes outside the White House community centre by the R70 Bus Stop (Nurserylands Shopping Centre stop), The Avenue, Hampton.
Allow up to 2 hours. Walk is approximately 1.5 miles.
Free / donation: book via website
