It looks like the council has decided to get rid of the chicane in oak avenue, so cars going towards Hanworth will no longer have to queue. This does actually seem a good idea - I have always felt that while the chicane certainly slowed down traffic, it was more likely to cause accidents than eliminate them. And it certainly caused quite a lot of stress either for people forced to wait or for those with priority who got understandably annoyed with people who got fed up with waiting and tried to convince themselves that a tiny gap in the oncoming traffic was enough for them to speed through the chicane. So at least a little bit of progress - I think and hope!

Everyone I've listend to about this matter seems to think the chicanes were a bad idea in the first place and were opposed. Who did support there implentation or did the Council just know best?
