Please could the person/s who put up the red poppies now take them down please.  It's way past the 11th November and we are in Christmas mode now.  Thank you

Thanks Janice - I tweeted the LBRuT help line about these. I'll let you know of any response.

Thank you Matt but I believe it wasn't the Council that put them up

Lest we forget!!!! Christmas is for those that gave and the heros still able to celebrate Christmas. Poppies look great..... Bah humbug. Happy christmas

Those involved in displaying Hampton's poppies are removing them after the Christmas parade - as they were requested to do. I have enjoyed seeing them over the last few weeks.

Ok Thanks and there was no Bah Humbug involved whatsoever a Merry Christmas to you too

Well got to say that i am the guilty one

I was going to remove them after the Hampton have had their parade on Sunday.

they will be coming down Monday sometime.

Always remember what ever time of the year it is as if it wasn't for the people those Poppies stand for

you probably wouldn't be celebrating Christmas.

Anybody wanting to have a comment feel welcome to come and see me on Sunday where i shall have my charity motorcycle on display outside Terry's shop, next to the pet shop.

I shall be collecting for BLESMA The limbless veterans charity

Love to all

Mike

Congratulations to Mike for single handedly putting the poppies up and making our Village unique in its tribute this year. I don't remember the war stopping for Christmas........
More than willing to help you take them down when you are ready Mike, as I know you and your family are busy with your amazing charity work, and I am sure those people who are bothered by them still being up would also willingly help, name the date and time and we can all help in a community spirit that makes Hampton such a lovely place to live.
Well said Jane and well done Mike

Thanks Mike. You should feel free to post to this thread if you want to organise helpers to assist. It would be great if the poppies could all be preserved for next year. Speaking personally, we found them an affecting tribute, which provoked a lot of discussion and interest from our little ones.

I too enjoyed seeing the poppies a wonderful tribute and reminder of what our young men sacrificed and still are!

Heavens I am sorry if I offended anyone.  I just felt that Armistice Day was a day for remembering and respecting those that had fallen (which I do). I thought that having the Christmas Fayre around the poppies, people enjoying themselves, was a little disrespectful.  For those that seemed so have had  a 'dig' at  me I hope you remember on Christmas Day that in WW1 there was an unofficial cease fire when both sides played football in no man's land and they too respected each other.
