"Pro Road Race: The estimated time at Hampton Court is 14.19 slow > 14.15 fast, we've found getting to either the sprint point half way down the Hampton Court Road or Hampton Court Bridge about 13.00 is a good time or even earlier if you want…"
A quick question about the Ride London cycle events on at the end of the month, specifically the Sunday races. We've got visitors from abroad staying that weekend who might like to watch the race. Does anyone know, based on previous years' experience, roughly when the riders pass over Hampton Court bridge? there doesn't appear to be much on estimated race timings (only road closures) on the Ride London web pages, so thought I'd ask those who have maybe watched it before?ThanksSee More
"I wonder if it's this gentleman, reported on the GetWestLondon news site as "knocking on random doors to obtain money by deception".
As the article says, any suspicious activity can be reported to police on the non-emergency…"
We've just had one of these through our letterbox (despite clear "no junk mail" sign, grr). Looks like a semi-official leaflet and test tube with instructions to fill with tap water and leave outside for collection tomorrow. To save others the bother, a search shows this to be, if not an actual scam, a pretty underhand sales technique. It seems leaving a sample out will result in a call claiming that our water is "too hard" and recommending (ta-daa) installation of an Aquatec softening…See More
"I didn't realise that the poppies were put up by an individual; just assumed it was the council. They looked great, an excellent idea. Thanks, Mike. My son was very impressed with your bike on Sunday, too!"
"Residents on Taggs Island are, I believe, in LBRuT; their postal addresses are listed as TW postcodes so they should object via the Richmond planning portal - and indeed are.
I understand the building is for the use of the Molesey Jaguar Sea…"
"Do they tell people where they're dropping off before they get on at Hampton? Would be interesting to know what they would do if someone of limited mobility needed to use the service who might find the 320m walk/roll to the station from the…"
"I would also suggest a petition for traffic calming measures and better signage to warn HGVs of the restricted height/road width under the railway bridge might get more traction with local residents and businesses than calling for an outright…"
"The road is also up on Uxbridge Road at the junction with Windmill Road, one lane out, with traffic light controls. We've also just been alerted of roadworks on Buckingham Road starting tomorrow for six weeks.
Pretty soon there will be no…"
Just driven across the junction between Broad Lane and Percy Road/The Avenue. There is a substantial hole in the road (care of Thames Water Utilities) but many of the surrounding barriers and signage etc have all fallen foul of the high winds. There's a fair chance the hole may be unlit come the evening, so take care.I will attempt to contact Thames Water/LBRuT/the local police but it being a Bank Holiday, messages may not be picked up.See More
"Absolutely, Clive. I know of one establishment on that list (not from Hampton) who failed to have hot water owing to a minor boiler fault so was docked a mark automatically. Other small failings cumulatively ended up with a poor…"
Well, there are some big surprises in this article from R&TT:http://goo.gl/cICm5fA few places we've eaten at since their inspections, and been extremely happy with the food.I guess such ratings are designed to reflect what a customer cannot see; facilities and procedures for the storage and handling of food, and staff education around the same. However I also wonder at the frequency of inspections. If you check the…See More
