I lived in Hampton from 1956 to 1980. Are there any members who lived in Hampton about the same time?

From 1951 to 1956 I lived in Park Road, Hampton Hill. I attended Carlisle Infants School and then Station Road Infants School next to the Railway pub in Hampton. The school was eventually demolished to make way for a small block of flats (Rushbury Court). Ironically I was one of the first to buy one of those flats (ground floor front right).

Until I moved to Rushbury Court I lived in our family house on the Upper Sunbury Road, between Percy Road and Beards Hill.

I then moved to Parr's Place, off Tudor Road, which was my first and last house in Hampton.

I attended Percy Road Primary school and afterwards Rectory Secondary Modern in Hanworth. I attended Isleworth and Kingston Colleges for four years.

I had a paper round with Haffendens the newsagent and worked after school in the Casino on Taggs Island. I worked at Gays Engineering in Oldfield Road and SAFT in Station Road before leaving permanently for the West Country.

I have fond memories of my formative years in Hampton, but believe me there is much more to life beyond.
