Thank you Linda. Still quite a way to go and funds to be found. We hope to raise lots of money for The League of Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital and Linden Hall Day Centre.
As well as up to 17 vintage London buses on static display, we're running Heritage bus tours to and from Kingston, Twickenham and Hampton Court. One will be 725 Green Lines replicating part of the old service that ran between Gravesend and Windsor and now the X26 (West Croydon and Heathrow). We have also agreed with Transport for London to run a special 267 service between Twickenham and Hampton Court via Hampton Station. We are hoping to arrange a third service running between Hampton Station and the Kempton and Hampton Waterworks steam railway.
So far we have six buses being provided by the London Bus Museum, London United and two private owners.
The tours will be free but we will encourage passengers to purchase Hampton Transport Gala Souvenir Programmes and help raise money for the Linden Hall Community Centre, the League of Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital and one other local charity.
We're also talking with the pubs and restaurants and many will be opening specially or early -
Transport for London have designated 2014 as 'The Year of the Bus' marking the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 1 and the role of London's buses at the front line, the 75th Anniversary of introduction of the 'RT' type bus and 60th of the prototype Routemasters. The first RT and RML3 will be on display at The Gala and we are working with the London Transport Museum on an exhibition showing how London's buses were used to transport troops and the wounded. This will be held at Linden Hall Community Centre.
Advance leaflets are now available at Plenty, The Railway Bell and the library in Hampton Village and from The Carp & Trout fish and chip shop, The Star, post office and library in Hampton Hill.

Thank you Linda. It's become a great local community event with so many local businesses, pubs and restaurants involved as well as the ward councillors. It looks as though we might now have a working 7 1/4" gauge steam railway layout in Wensleydale Road for the children to ride on between Sweet Café and Lloyds Bank. We really hope to raise lots of money for the three local charities and good causes - The League of Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital, the Linden Hall Community Centre, 3rd Hampton Scout Group and Hampton Junior School.
