Bringing People Together
More info on this and another unrelated road matter:
I wonder how your monitoring of the traffic calming measures in Oak Avenue is coming along as I am becoming increasingly concerned at the potential problem I identified earlier with the cushions close to the Fearnley Cres junction. The other day, I was followed by a motorcyclist who was obviously driving between cushions, rather than over them as I would in my car. As we approached Fearnley Cres, I signalled right but had to pull over to the left cushion because of oncoming traffic, rather than use the middle cushion before turning right. I then had to pull right to get back to a central position to turn right. Fortunately, the motorcyclist realised what I was doing, and there was no incident, but the position of the cushions does force drivers to move left and then immediately right to turn into Fearnley. I have looked again at the position of the cushions relative to the adjacent driveways, and I think it is possible to install a full table, albeit at a slightly reduced length.
Whilst writing, I was hoping you could look into another matter which seems to have been going on for some time. The traffic lights at the junction of Upper and Lower Sunbury Roads often stop traffic on the A308, even when there is no traffic waiting to emerge from the Lower road. It seems that the detector on the lights on the Lower road is not working properly and is causing unnecessary hold ups to traffic on the main road, not to mention the additional fuel consumption and pollution. Would it be possible to have this checked out and rectified?
Many thanks and a very Happy New Year.
